DIRECTORS STATEMENT

"Deep Under" is short film directed by British Independent filmmaker, Eric Garson.

Deep Under tells the story of a husband who reveals to his wife that he's a spy.

The film stars American screenwriter, actress and producer Eilis Cahill (Mouthful, Mad & Stake Land) & accomplish stage and musical theatre actor, Charles Hagerty.
The production team behind the project, FYWHYEM Productions, have previously made The Carter Sanction, Whisper, Dog Days, The Closet & in post-production Diva, Instant & The Bronze Pocket Watch.

"Deep Under" is a collaboration between screenwriter & co-producer Eilis Cahill and director Eric Garson.

Inspired by Eilis' script, Eric wanted the film to feel like it was almost under water, subterranean, under an ocean of secrets and half-truths. As a consequence, in collaboration with cinematographer Gabi Bilin, a saturated blue lighting scheme was employed to convey this mood, tone and atmosphere.

The film's soundtrack was originally composed by Ivor McGurk. Who obtained the services of a professional South African cellist to record the cello during the film.
Alongside sound mixer Krzysztof Rodzik, audio post-production engineer Sophie Marchant, poster designer Rashpal Gurm, the cast and crew of Deep Under hope they have made a visually rich and immersive cinematic experience.
